The perfect
moment,
held forever
Photography · Videography · Limited Availability
There are moments
that exist outside
of ordinary time
The ancient Greeks had a word for it. Kairos — the charged, perfect moment. The kind where time seems to pause and the world narrows to a single point of meaning.
A first glance at the altar. The quiet before the vows. A father's hand on a daughter's shoulder. These are not photographs. They are preserved moments of being, held carefully in light and shadow for the decades to come.
We are Kairos: The Eternal Frame. Everything we do is built around two things: finding your kairos — and making your portrait. The moment that existed without us, and the image that could not have existed without us. Both, kept forever.

See the moments come alive
The whole day, held in motion — every quiet moment, exactly as it felt
"The right moment. The opportune instant. The pause between heartbeats where meaning lives."
In ancient Greek thought, time was understood in two forms. Chronos: the relentless, measurable march of seconds and minutes. And Kairos: the qualitative moment charged with significance — the moment that matters beyond all others. Your wedding day is made of both. We are only interested in the second — and in making sure you can return to it, in full fidelity, for the rest of your lives.

From enquiry to forever
Not just your date and venue. Tell us what matters most to you — the moments that, in thirty years, you'll want to feel again.
We meet — over coffee, a call, or a walk — to understand your day. No pitching. Just listening.
Venues, timings, family dynamics, the things you're nervous about. We arrive on the day knowing your story already.
For most of the day we are quiet presences, watching the moments unfold as they were always meant to. At the right point, we take you somewhere with intention — and make a portrait worth returning to for the rest of your lives.
A private gallery. A film. An album. Yours to keep, share, and return to for the rest of your lives.
"There is no second chance at a first glance. No rehearsal for the walk down the aisle. We show up prepared to be surprised — and ready when it happens."
Christie and John blended into our day completely — we barely noticed they were there, and yet they captured everything. Our sneak peek arrived days later and they were beyond anything I had imagined. They understood exactly what we wanted without us ever having to explain it. We cannot wait to see the full gallery and film.
We were nervous about having cameras on us all day. By mid-morning we had completely forgotten they were there. What came back in our gallery was something we could not have described to them beforehand — they just knew. We will have these photographs forever, and that is not something we say lightly.
From the very first conversation, we knew Kairos were different. On the day, John and Christie moved through everything with such calm — nothing felt staged, nothing felt rushed. The images they delivered were beyond what we had hoped for. Every time we look at them, we are back in that room.
We chose Birtsmorton for the grounds and the history — and John and Christie understood that before they arrived. They moved through the day with complete ease, always present without ever being intrusive. When the time came for portraits, John took us somewhere quiet in the grounds and made something we had not known to ask for: bold, cinematic, and entirely ours. We look at those images and cannot quite believe that is our wedding day.
If something here has felt right — we'd love to hear about your day.
The questions worth asking
Most couples book 12–18 months in advance, particularly for peak summer Saturdays. We occasionally have availability at shorter notice — it is always worth an enquiry. A £300 non-refundable booking fee confirms your booking and secures your date in our calendar.
Yes — and we'd encourage you to ask. We're happy to share a complete, edited gallery from a real wedding so you can see exactly how we work across an entire day, not just the highlights we've chosen to feature. Just mention it when you enquire and we'll send one across.
Your photographs are delivered within 8–10 weeks of your wedding day via a private, password-protected online gallery. During quieter periods this is often sooner; during peak summer season, please allow up to 10 weeks. Your highlight film follows within 12 weeks, with the same seasonal consideration. If you've booked The Aura, your heirloom album is designed and delivered once you've made your final image selection.
We don't put a fixed number on it — we deliver every image that tells your story beautifully. For a full day wedding you can typically expect several hundred fully edited images. We never pad a gallery with near-identical frames, and we never withhold images to sell prints. What you receive is everything worthy of your story — nothing more, nothing less.
Yes — we are based in Yorkshire but travel UK wide for weddings. Travel is included in all packages. If your wedding is further afield and requires an overnight stay, we'll discuss any additional costs transparently at the enquiry stage — there are never any surprises.
This is one of the things we hear most often — and honestly, it's one of our favourite challenges. For most of the day we work entirely in the background — no posing, no interrupting, just watching. By mid-morning, most couples have forgotten we're there. When it comes to your couple portraits, we take a different approach: we are warm, relaxed, and we guide you gently — the result is something dramatic and beautiful that never feels forced. You will be surprised by how natural it feels, and by how the images look.
Rain, overcast skies, and grey light are all part of a British wedding — and honestly, some of the most beautiful images we've ever made have been in imperfect weather. We know how to work with whatever the day gives us, and we always scout indoor alternatives at every venue. The weather doesn't define the photographs. The people do.
Absolutely. We photograph and film all types of wedding — religious, civil, humanist, outdoor, intimate, large, and everything in between. Every couple's day is unique and we approach each one without assumptions or a fixed formula.
Yes — and we'd encourage it. We offer a no-obligation consultation, either in person or over a video call, where we can talk through your day, answer any questions, and get a sense of whether we're the right fit for each other. Booking a photographer is a personal decision and we want you to feel completely comfortable before committing.

Recent work, quiet moments, and the images that nearly made the gallery — but deserved their own space.
Ready to find your kairos?
Forty couples a year. John and Christie — not associates, not second shooters standing in. If what you've seen here feels right, we'd love to hear about your day.
